  • Garlic – Fresh garlic gives the butter its main flavor and aroma.
  • Garlic powder -This adds a deeper garlic flavor and balances the fresh garlic.
  • Salt – Sharpens and balances the flavors of the butter and garlic.
  • Black pepper – Provided additional flavor and a subtle spice.
  • Fresh parsley Brings freshness and color, and balances the richness.

Tips For Making The Best Garlic Butter

  • Use room-temperature butter so everything mixes smoothly.
  • Mince the garlic as finely as you can so every bite tastes balanced.
  • Mix a bit longer than you think is needed. This helps the seasoning spread evenly.
  • Taste and adjust as needed. If your butter is unsalted, you might want to add a little more salt.
  • For a milder flavor, use fewer garlic cloves or let the butter chill for a few hours so the flavors blend and mellow.

Storage Instructions

  • Refrigerator – Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
  • Freezer – For longer storage, scoop the butter onto parchment paper, shape it into a log, wrap it tightly, and freeze for up to 2 months. Just slice off what you need and return the rest to the freezer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is garlic butter vegan?

Traditional garlic butter is made with dairy butter. This version uses dairy-free butter, so it is vegan.

Can I use salted vegan butter?

Yes. If you use salted butter, start with less added salt, then taste and adjust.

Can I use dried parsley instead of fresh?

Yes. Use a smaller amount (about 1/3 teaspoon) since dried herbs are more concentrated. Mix well so it distributes evenly.

How do I make this butter spreadable right out of the fridge?

Let it sit at room temperature for about 10 to 15 minutes, then stir to soften.

Can I roast the garlic first?

Yes. Roasted garlic will make the flavor sweeter and less sharp. Mash it into the butter, then mix until uniform.
