Get ready to try out the perfect healthy snack! These protein bliss balls are now one of our go-to snacks when we prep meals for the week.
These vegan chocolate protein bliss balls are not only delicious, but they are also easy-to-make and free of gluten, oil, and refined sugar.
We make a large batch of these (1-2 recipes at a time) and pop them in the refrigerator so that we have a healthy snack that is easily accessible throughout the week. We also made this recipe in conjunction with our brand new vegan meal prep video on our YouTube Channel and you can watch it above.
It was one of our most highly requested videos and we are excited to finally be sharing it! Just another day one the job for Berry. He is closely monitoring our photoshoot and trying to figure out a way to sneak a bite. Of course, we kept a close eye to make sure he didn’t as these have chocolate in them!
Make sure you tag us on Instagram at @sweetsimplevegan and @consciouschris and hashtag #sweetsimplevegan if you recreate these chocolate protein bliss balls or any of our other recipes, we love to see your photos!
2 scoops (46 g) Orgain vegan chocolate protein powder
1/4 cup + 2 Medjool dates, pitted and packed
~1/4 cup water (coconut water or non-dairy milk works, too)
1 tablespoon organic maple syrup
1 teaspoonpure vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon pink Himalayan salt
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
If you are using rolled oats, place into a food processor and run until broken down into the consistency of quick oats and uniform, about 30 seconds or so.
Place all of the remaining ingredients into a food processor and run until a dough forms, adding more coconut water a tablespoon at a time as needed (the dough should stay together when you press it between your fingers).
Scoop the dough into a tablespoon-sized ball, being sure to press it tightly to help it stay together. Continue until all of the dough has been rolled into balls.
Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
Notes
If you do not want to use protein powder, you can replace it with 3 tablespoons of cocoa or cacao powder.
If you use a different protein powder, keep in mind that it will alter the flavor, sweetness, etc.
Hi Jasmine! Two things: first of all, I feel just like your cute dog looking at these delicious balls and begging for one – pretty please…. And secondly, how amazing is your meal prep?!! I must admit, I’ve never been good at meal prep as I normally chuck various things into my lunch box the night before but I think I might re-consider my decision now after seeing your amazing meal prep spread!
Super tasty. I swapped the nuts for 1/3 cup nut butter andaplw syrup for rice malt syrup
I rolled them in coconut too.
They remind me of summer roll chocolate bar.
