I’m just going to go ahead and say it– I’ve never really been a big (plain) tahini fan…I see SO many bloggers on instagram drizzling plain tahini all over their food and it just sounds so odd to me!
For a while, I would only really only eat tahini in hummus and occasionally in dressings at restaurants (tbh I’m more of a caesar kind of gal), but it wasn’t until I visited Israel that my opinion on Tahini changed. It was the first time ever that I tried tahini that was not bitter and actually satisfying! I was confused haha but also excited because I wanted to do more research on better tahinis available to me and get creative in the kitchen with them.
My tahini loving friend introduced me to this tahini brand (also available through their website) and it is what I have been using ever since! I want to also add that even if you don’t have this tahini brand, this dressing works with all tahini’s. The trick is to add a bit of sweetener + other flavors in the recipe to mask the bitterness and elevate the flavor– in this case garlic, tamari and mustard.
