A lot of people claim that green smoothies are too complex to be included in their morning routines, but I argue the opposite! Green smoothies can be made with complexity or extremely simplistic, it is all up to you. You really do not have to rely on any recipe, as I encourage you to get creative in the kitchen and include flavors YOU love <3
Today I am sharing two flavors that I myself enjoy and I encourage you to try them out. One recipe is simple, while the other is a bit more complex. Whether you follow these recipes exactly to the T or draw inspiration from them, the fact that you will be creating a green smoothie is what makes me happy. My friend Leanne Bishara and I got together to shoot a few photos for my blog, as well as some beautiful headshots out in the Arlington Garden in Pasadena, CA. You can see more photos here.
I recently started making a green smoothie quite similar to your Complex Green Smoothie. I have never really cared for smoothies, green or otherwise, but I have really been enjoying this lately: banana, apple, cucumber, celery, lemon (about 1cm slice, peeled), mint, ice, water, a splash of vanilla almond milk, a dollop of yogurt (not vegan but I love it). Sometimes I add a some leafy greens but not very much, just a small handful. I blend it long and high till it’s not so cold anymore. So yummy and I agree, this is quick and easy to make!
Yumm!! The vanilla almond milk is probably a great touch, I will have to try that out with some vegan coconut yogurt (my fav vegan yogurt!). Thanks for the ideas, Leila 🙂

Can these be made ahead of time, like the night before, and stored in the fridge till morning?
Yes, so long as they are in an air tight container! And then just make sure to mix well before drinking 🙂
